About Us

Isla Del Encanto Vacation Rentals consists of a variety of vacation rental homes around Puerto Rico. We currently own 2 of the properties and the rest we manage for our clients and friends. As of November, 2023 we have our first home, Casa Revive in Rio Grande available for rent as well as our newly listed Condado Laguna Villa in Condado San Juan. In the coming months we will be adding a Marina View Condo in Fajardo as well as another upscale home in Condado San Juan. We are currently working on rental projects that will be available in Fall of 2024.

Nathan began managing short term rental properties while living in Palm Springs, California. At the peak, he managed upwards of 120 homes. While he learned a lot, he also started to dream about running his own agency where he could deliver the level of service that was not always available in a large company.

After leaving the agency, Nathan & Eduardo began to rent their Palm Springs home, with a lot of success. Everything was running smooth until the pandemic hit. We had to spend several months sheltering in place, and in that time we decided to make a change and move to Puerto Rico, where Eduardo was born and raised.

Our first home in Puerto Rico was Casa Revive, the rain forest hacienda. We gave the home that name because we did revive the house from years of abandonment following hurricane Maria in 2017. We had intended on living in that home for awhile, but when Nathan found the property in Carolina, we decided to undertake another renovation!

In the homes we own, and have renovated, you find many pieces of custom furniture built by Nathan. Also, some of the artwork was created by Nathan or Eduardo. Eduardo is a very talented painter and you can see his work by clicking here. Even in our clients homes, you can find some custom built furniture and our artwork.

After the amazing results and feedback we received after renting Casa Revive, Nathan decided to realize his dream of creating his own agency and this is the result. Our goal is to provide exceptional service and amenities, and provide safe and secure vacation rental housing. Most of our homes have a back-up energy supply so your trip will not be affected by the occasional black outs. Almost all of the homes also have a back up water supply with additional filtration. Nearly all of the homes use solar energy to maintain the hot water supply.

We are constantly re-investing a portion of our earnings back into the homes to keep them fresh and updated. We value your feedback and use it to ensure we keep improving our homes and our service offerings.

We truly enjoy what we do, and while we cannot guarantee a flawless experience, we can guarantee a prompt and courteous response to any issues that arise. As the number of properties grows, so does the services we offer, such as cooking classes in our rental homes and a rental SUV to make your arrival even more seamless.

This brand, Isla Del Encanto Vacation Rentals focuses on the inventory of homes we manage. Our other brand, Tour de Puerto Rico focuses on suppling our guests with the highest quality information about things to do around the island. We have gathered much of the information from our own experiences, but we also welcome new tips to try out for ourselves and to share with our guests.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us, and considering our homes for your next trip to Puerto Rico!

-Nathan

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why should I book with Isla Del Encanto Vacation Rentals?
A: We have many years of experience in managing vacation rental homes. We use feedback from previous guests to ensure the best experience for our future guests. In the event something does not go as planned, be assured we are available to correct the issue as quickly as possible. If you book directly through us, and not one of our partner listings (Airbnb, VRBO, etc.), you will save more by not paying the fees charged by the platforms!

Q: Do you give discounts for longer stays?

A: Yes, we offer a discount for stays of 7 nights or more, and an even deeper discount for stays over 1 month.

Q: Can you help me create a reservation in several of your homes so I can enjoy more of the island?

A: Absolutely! Contact us through the site and we will check our calendars and send you back an offer for the dates and places you would like to visit. And if the total length of your trip is at least 7 nights, we will honor the weekly discount rate even if you stay at a single property for less than 7 days!

Q: When is the best time to visit Puerto Rico?

A: The 'high season' runs from December through May but in my personal opinion, there is no bad time to visit Puerto Rico. Summer and Fall are great times to visit if you want to avoid the tourist crowds of the high season. In terms of weather, summer is only slightly warmer than the rest of the year and you can always beat the heat at one of our world class beaches.

Q: Do you allow parties and extra guests?
A: Our homes are located in neighborhoods and out of respect for our working neighbors, we do not allow parties. Nor do we allow noise and amplified music outdoors after 10 PM. We have no problem with inviting a reasonable number of guests during the day to enjoy the property. Please reach out to us first so we can let you know the maximum number of day time guests for each home.

Q: What is the best airport to fly into?
A: SJU is the main airport in San Juan. You will generally find the most flight options in and out of this airport. It is also the closest airport to our rental properties.

Q: What toiletries do you stock your homes with?

A: Our homes are stocked with at least 2 rolls of toilet paper and paper towels, shampoo, body wash, insect spray, sunscreen, insect repellant and a wide variety of spices and cooking oil in the kitchen. We will also provide at least 1 bag of coffee along with an assortment of creamers and sweeteners. If there something special you want available at check-in, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you!

Q: Do I have to worry about power or water outages?

A: We have done everything in our 'power' to ensure protection from the many utility outages experienced on the island. Where possible, our homes have a back-up power source, whether solar panels and batteries, or generators. We also have backup water sources to ensure a comfortable stay.

Q: What happens in the event of a natural disaster?
A: In the unlikely event of a tropical storm, hurricane or earthquake, we will be in constant communication to work with you to determine the best and safest course of action. This could include providing additional supplies and adding hurricane shutters to add a level of protection for you and your guests. Don't forget, our homes do have back-up power and water supplies to ensure a comfortable stay even during natural disasters.

Q: What is your rental cancellation policy?
A: We offer two options to book your vacation rental home. Option 1 requires a full payment, but you can cancel up to 5 days before check-in without penalty. If you cancel with less than 5 days to check-in, no refund will be given. Option 2 gives you a 10% discount off the advertised rates, but this reservation is final and no refund will be given in the case of cancellation.

Q: What are the terms and conditions of the SUV rental?

A: The daily rate is $125. We do require all drivers to show a valid drivers license as well as proof of insurance. While the SUV is insured, any claims would be submitted to your policy first. The daily fee includes any road tolls incurred (these can add up!) and it includes pick-up and drop off at the airport, or another location if you choose. The SUV seats 7 so you can take your group around to see the sights.

Q: Do I need a passport to travel to Puerto Rico?

A: Passports are not required for US citizens to travel to Puerto Rico as it is a territory of the United States of America. If you are not a citizen of the United States, you will need a passport to visit.

Q: What are the current COVID-19 restrictions?

A: At this time, there are no government imposed restrictions for entry or tracking. But it's always good to check with the health department to ensure there have not been any recent changes.

Q: What do you do to help mitigate the spread of COVID in your homes?

A: We use bleach cleaners and disinfectants to ensure all high-touch surfaces are sterilized after each check-out. We also maintain a full day between guests as an added measure.

Q: Do I have to pay taxes?

A: Yes, the government of Puerto Rico imposes a tax on all lodging. The good news is that the tax rate is only 7% for vacation rental homes. It is 9-11% for other hotels and resorts. And at Isla Del Encanto Vacation Rentals we never charge an additional resort fee or parking fee.
